FROM ACADEMIC SUPPORT TO VTE STEAM ACTIVITIES
Through education and knowledge sharing, our education initiatives engage students, universities and schools, and professionals, to empower the youth with our culture of volunteering.
MMKN’s remedial sessions, delivered in the classrooms of Public Schools and online, have seen major updates through-out the years, adapting to a changing and challenging environment from health to financial crisis, guaranteeing the continuation and sustainability of our programs.
Today, MMKN perfected a symbiote between online and offline engagement, using WhatsApp and other open platform technologies coupled with in-person engagement, all enabled by our printed and distributed «Center for Educational Research and Development» approved MMKN Academic Supported Manuals.
Our sessions cover the core academic year, with 8 months of continuous support by our trained youth volunteers, amounting to thousands of hours of biology, chemistry, physics, and math practice sessions in addition to STEAM activities.
Our model for the academic support sessions is based on the values of volunteering that bring people together. Giving back to one’s community and engaging in a safe environment to engage in peer-to-peer learning, critical to the success of knowledge transfer.
We enroll and train qualified university students and graduates in order to break any existing barriers found in the traditional achievable objectives for school students to aspire to and engage with on a quasi-equal footing.
The result is motivated students that stay in school, graduate, and choose a path in their future, as opposed to a defeatist approach.
MMKN has engaged and inspired over 3,500 volunteer youth that have impacted the education and life paths of over 23,033 students and 100 Public Schools.
We are proud of our partnerships with LAU’s OCE, AUB’s CCECS, USJ’s Operation 7ieme Jour, Antonine University, LIFE Lebanon NGO, and many others who share our values and commitment to the future generations.
If you are a university student or graduate, you can volunteer as well.
The academic activities utilize both STEAM and the engineering design process to empower students to think, ask questions and discover new ways of learning. These methodologies help them apply traditional sciences and math notions to solve different scenarios that they might encounter in real life.
Our aim with these activities is to highlight the relevance and importance of sciences and math for making future education and career choices, introducing Vocational and Technical pathways which are less known.
In addition to in person and online workshops, MMKN also developed a full print and online STEAM workshop kits that take students of G8 and G9 through 12 gamified activity maps involving biology, chemistry, math, and physics from a community perspective, gaining academic and life skills, highlighting education and career paths.
BOOKS & CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
MMKN works with professors and professionals (through our Academic and Social Committees) to write and produce our own academic remedial books that are part of our Education Programs.
Developed by MMKN NGO in 2012, and then expanded in 2019 with the funding from Alfanar VP and Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, the latest iteration of the MMKN academic support manuals for students and teachers aims to bridge the growing knowledge gap today.
Focusing on STEM subjects (Bio, Chem, Math, Physics) the MMKN manuals complement the existing education programs by offering a complete, welcoming, and simple solution in print to vulnerable grade 8 and grade 9 students across Lebanon.
MMKN has distributed to this day over 21,000 academic support manuals for free across Lebanon’s Public Schools, that continue to benefit to this day over 23,033 students and their schools.

CAPACITY BUILDING
The classroom isn’t the only place we are making an impact.
Our focus on education extends into our ability to extend our programs and initiatives into extra curricular activities, summer camps, and week-end trainings for students. This is fully embodied in our Embracing Potentials initiative, that offers all these activities.
If you are an organization or school looking to benefit from these activities, don’t hesitate to contact us.
MMKN is also dedicated to helping Public School Teachers. We have started organizing a yearly Teacher Capacity building workshop, that focuses on upgrading teachers’ skills with the latest techniques and best practices.
Teachers and schools are welcome to contact us to take part in our workshops.
